Sita Bibaha is the first Odia movie, which was released on 28th April 1936 at the Laxmi Talkies of Puri. It is a mythological cinema that marked the beginning of the Odia film industry. The story is about the marriage of Lord Rama and Sita, based on the epic Ramayana.

Review
Sita Bibaha was released five years after the first Hindi talkie movie Alam Ara. The 12-reel film was based on a play written by Kamapala Mishra. Makhanlal Banerjee played ‘Sri Ram’ while Aditya Ballabha Mohanty played ‘Lakshman’ and Prabhabati Devi played ‘Sita’.
